Materials
Tools
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
Instructions
- To begin, harvest your lambs ear. You will need enough to wrap around your wreath. I pick more than I will need so that I have different sizes to play around with. In the end, I used 20 leafs for an 9.8 in wreath
- Lay out your lambs ear on a paper towel and lay another layer of paper towel over your lambs ear. Make sure they are laid out flat. Allow to dry for 24 hours.
- Collect your decorations, lambs ear and wreath. I like to lay the lambs ear down to configure the leafs to see how I want it to look before gluing. Feel free to cut off any of the stem that does not fit on the wreath.
- Once you know how you want your wreath to look, warm up your glue gun.
- Start with one side and glue your lambs ear to the wreath. Once you start getting to the middle, start on the other side so you can overlap the leafs if desired. I glued 5 first, then started on the other side. This allows me to overlap my leafs on the bottom later.
- When gluing, glue the leafs the wreath itself. But also, overlap the leafs and glue them to each other the best you can. Whatever part of the leaf that is not glued to something will curl a bit.
- Continue glueing on the other side now and then to the middle.
- Make any final changes, including gluing the leafs to each other.
- You have your final product! Feel free to add a bow, more decorations or leave it simple!
Notes
Real Lambs Ear is very brittle when it drys, so make sure you have everything exactly where you would like it because you may not change it.
Real Lambs Ear also will curl in on itself so make sure you are generously gluing.
Conclusion on Making a Real Lamb’s Ear Wreath
I hope your real lamb’s ear wreath brings you joy this fall and winter! It is a perfect everyday wreath to have on display. It is the perfect front-door, farmhouse wreath!

Believe it or not, lamb’s ear is used as an edible herb to help with inflammation. It can also be used as a bandaid to help wounds heal.
